Today the town crews were putting the Christmas lights up all around US 36 and on the square. I love to see the town during this time of year... simply beautiful it reminds me of the movie "It's a Wonderful Life".
We received the invitation for the event today in the mail. It's Friday, November27th, 2009. This event has become a part of the Konter's Christmas tradition. During the day Cameron & I attend some of the children's games and crafts. He loves to play the games. We also enjoy shopping at the local merchants. The Court House Grounds has some great hot chocolate and the Royal Theater plays a Christmas movie. Then Santa and Mrs. Clause make their way around the square (usually in a Corvette) to "Flip the Switch".
After the lights are turned on Santa & Mrs. Clause make their way to Ellis Park to open the Winterland light show. We usually take our trip around town in a carriage ride after the lights are turned on.
This is a great tradition that my family has enjoyed for the past three years. For additional information about the event visit the following website: http://www.visitdowntowndanville.com/
